Inaugration of Tejaswani First Edition by First Lady Prem Mukhi
North East women entrepreneurs association ( NEWEA ) has been putting its untiring efforts since more than 2 decades for the cause of women empowerment. Through the publication of a souvenir this year, NEWEA has given an added thrust to its goal of women empowerment. The souvenir named Tejaswini is mostly a compilation of encouraging messages from various dignitaries, informative articles from different government departments and success stories of women entrepreneurs across the globe.
Through Tejaswini, NEWEA aims to enlighten all upcoming women entrepreneurs to take up challenges and continue to work with added perseverance for their own independence and contribute to the economic development of the nation at large. We are yet to compile many more success stories of dynamic women of whom we have come to know while working on our first souvenir.
Therefore, NEWEA intends to come up with the publication of a souvenir annually .This activity of publication would definitely play a catalyst’s role in encouraging all the upcoming women entrepreneurs. As mentioned by our honorable Prime Minister in his message in our souvenir, “Increase in the number of women entrepreneurs will not only augment their social and economic status, but will also enhance the economic development of the north east region and the nation”.
NEWEA, was overwhelmed to have the First Lady of Assam on this occasion to do the honour at NEDFI House, Dispur from 4 pm onwards . On the occasion she expressed her delight to witness women entrepreneurs from different states of north east of India work together in a symbiotic manner. She also praised the quality and beauty of the products at the exhibition organised by NEWEA( from 31st October to 4th November )going on simultaneously. To crown all, she was highly impressed by the splendid content of the souvenir, TEJASWINI.
